Recently refurbished with a contemporary touch, this handsome stone pub/restaurant/hotel has been revived by renowned local chef Brian Baker. An inviting atmosphere, great food and service are part of the experience. Brian has developed the daily menus to embrace a wide appeal and all dishes are prepared to order using fresh locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant seats 80 and food is also served in the two bar areas and Private Dining room during service hours. Brian’s speciality ‘sharing dishes’ such as the Grilled Rib of Derbyshire Beef, Bearnaise Sauce and Pommes Frites have been a firm favourite since the Marquess of Exeter opening in May 2009.

To accompany the dishes, an appealing wine list and a selection of Marstons' real ales, beers & spirits are available. We have 18 bedrooms (17 ensuite, 1 with its own private disabled access bathroom). All rooms are non-smoking and are situated in the ground or first floor and offer Freeview TV, complimentary Tea & Coffee making facilities, hairdryer, telephone dial out serivce, ironing facilities, and preferential restaurant bookings. We allow dogs in our rooms when accommpanied by their owners. AA rating 4 Star Inn.
