The Tollemache Arms, in the small, picturesque village of Buckminster is a 19th century building which was sympathetically refurbished (and now run) by two young couples. They celebrate their first anniversary at the pub in January 2011.
The Tollemache has the features of a traditional pub – a big oak bar serving local ales and an open fire as well as a library leading off the dining room where you can enjoy a peaceful aperitif, read the paper or retire for coffee. There is a beer garden at the back of the pub ideal for eating outside during the warmer months and offering a place fro children to play without the worry of traffic.

The food is modern European and focused on what local producers and the season can offer. An a la carte menu runs from Tuesday to Saturday, lunch and dinner, with the addition of sandwiches at lunch-time and there is a fixed price menu for lunch on Sundays. You can eat a little or a lot – either run in for something less substantial at the bar or stay and enjoy all three courses in the comfort of the dining room.
Every Thursday evening is Pie Night – where you can choose from a selection of two or three pies to enjoy with a drink for £10.50. Other events include a supper club once every two months visiting a different country or region with a menu and wines to match; and a feller’s fry up on the first Saturday of the month.

The Tollemache Arms welcomes all ages, their muddy feet and their dogs (in the bar) whether it’s for a pint by the fire, a quick sandwich at lunch-time, a celebratory dinner or Sunday lunch with all the family.
The Tollemache is the first independent venture of this partnership of Matt and Amanda Wrisdale and Paul and Matilda Adams. Paul and Matt, who are in charge of the kitchen have worked in London and the southern counties, sometimes together at the same stove, sometimes apart. Matilda and Amanda run the front of house.
